What is Acura SH-AWD®?
SH-AWD®, or Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™, is the all-wheel drive system that sharpens handling, improves performance, and increases traction. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights of this system in greater detail:
- This system monitors the distribution of torque to each of your wheels, based on angle, yaw rate, and wheel speed, and then works to perfect that distribution to optimize traction, efficiency, and performance given road conditions.
- By sending 90% of power to the front wheels when cruising, fuel economy is increased significantly.
- By shifting weight towards the rear wheels when you accelerate, traction is greatly increased.
- This system sends 70% of torque to rear wheels, applying it exclusively to the outside of the wheel when weight shifts while accelerating on curves.
